Italian Tax Code (Codice Fiscale)

The Italian Tax Code (Codice Fiscale), is a unique alphanumeric identifier that enables Italian authorities to recognize individuals for different administrative processes. It is a crucial requirement for signing contracts in Italy, opening bank accounts, and accessing numerous public services, including healthcare.

During the admission process, an official tax code is not required. For those students applying for a study visa the Universitaly.it website will generate an automatic temporary tax code.
However, to enroll at the University of Siena, the official code is necessary.

The Codice Fiscale is issued by the Italian Revenue Agency (Agenzia delle Entrate).
