TOLC@HOME: How should the room and testing setup be arranged?
Setting Up the Room
You must prepare the room at least 45 minutes before the scheduled start time of the test, ensuring compliance with the setup guidelines as illustrated below.
- Clean and clear environment
- Only pencil, paper and ID
- Mobile device camera facing the desk
- Good ambient light

Room Configuration for a TOLC@HOME Session
- Select a quiet and well-lit room in your home (e.g., study, kitchen, bedroom, etc.).
- Position your laptop and mobile device to avoid reflections or glare, ensuring that the primary light source (natural or artificial) comes preferably from the right or left.
- Place a support structure (e.g., bookshelf, shelf, tripod) behind you, where you will position your mobile device with its camera facing your desk, only when instructed by the virtual exam commission. The support structure must meet the following requirements:
- Angle: Positioned at approximately 45° to the desk
- Height: No more than 1.50 meters (4.9 feet) from the floor
- Distance: About 1.50 meters (4.9 feet) from the desk
During the Test Session:
- Both the mobile device and laptop must be plugged into a power source.
- The room door must remain closed and must be visible within the mobile device’s camera frame.
Equipment Restrictions:
⛔️ NOTICE: No additional electronic devices or accessories may be used, including headphones, earbuds, or external microphones.
Positioning Yourself on Test Day
- You must be centered in front of your laptop screen.
- You must wear clothing that does not allow objects to be concealed (e.g., hoodies with pockets, jackets, or coats).
- Your desk must be clear, containing only the following:
- Laptop
- Pen and blank sheets of paper
- The same identification document (ID) you uploaded on apply.unisi.it
- All other items must be removed, except for approved assistive tools for individuals with DSA (Specific Learning Disorders) or disabilities.
- You must have your mobile device available for ZOOM access to the virtual exam room. The device should be placed on the support structure behind you only when instructed by the exam commission.
